The Innerbelt Bridge in Cleveland, Ohio was blown apart by a controlled demolition on July 12. Cleveland Aerial Media had drones in the air to capture footage of the historic moment. When the bridge opened in 1959, it was the largest bridge in the state of Ohio. Demolition of the remaining bridge spans is expected to be finished by August. Local media outlets report that a new bridge is expected to be completed in late 2016. Credit: YouTube/Michael Hach
Ronnie and Jeanette Haislip’s hen recently laid six eggs, and two remained solid after the other four had already hatched. Ronnie heard a faint chirp coming from one of the remaining eggs, and guessed that the chick inside was not strong enough to peck its way out. With some help from Ronnie, the chick was welcomed into the world. The Haislips, who are animal rescuers in Tennessee, said that the chick was still alive and well the next morning. We all have embarrassing stories from our younger days that we’d rather not be reminded of. Jasmin Parnell discovered this old home video of her brother in which he talks about losing his willy, and offers to take off his trousers as proof. The person behind the camera can be heard saying: “We’ll certainly have fun playing this back to you when you’re fifteen”. Hopefully now that he’s older, he agrees. Credit: YouTube/Jazz Jaffra
This close-up footage of a fire at a plywood mill in the Willamette Valley community of Springfield, Oregon, was uploaded to YouTube by Ryan Levenson. He spotted the fire on Thursday, July 17, and flew his camera in for a closer look at the blaze. The fire badly damaged the complex and even prompted a brief evacuation notice, but there were no reported injuries. Credit: YouTube/Eugene Aerial
If the weather is good and you don’t happen to live by the beach or close to a pool, what should you do? Drew Vandehey and his friends found one solution. Using roughly 100 feet of painter’s plastic sheeting, a downhill slope in the backyard, a hose and some soap, they built their very own water park. And all for only $17. Watch as the group of friends slip and slide their way to a good time. Credit: YouTube/drew vandehey
